EICR & Testing

Ensure safety and reliability with comprehensive electrical testing services.

We at Alistair Electrical are proudly NICEIC registered. We carry out EICRs, Minor Work reports, Completion certificates, Emergency Light Compliance certificates and PAT Testing.

We are NICEIC registered (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting), this is an independent organization based in the United Kingdom that operates as a certification body for electrical contractors and electricians. It provides assessment and certification services to ensure that electrical installations and electrical work meet the required safety standards. Being a part of the NICEIC ensures that we have the necessary technical competence and comply with industry standards. Contractors who meet the assessment criteria and maintain high standards of workmanship can become registered with NICEIC.

The purpose of an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is to assess the safety and condition of an electrical installation in a building. It involves a thorough inspection and testing of the electrical systems, circuits, and equipment to identify any defects, non-compliance with regulations, or potential hazards.

EICR & TESTING

Here are the main purposes of an EICR provided by Alistair Electrical.

We Identify Electrical Hazards

An EICR aims to identify any potential electrical hazards that may pose a risk to the safety of occupants. This includes faulty wiring, inadequate earthing or bonding, damaged sockets or switches, overheating components, or any other electrical issues that could lead to electrical shocks, fires, or other accidents. We Provide Recommendations for Improvement

Based on the findings of the inspection and testing, an EICR report provides recommendations for any necessary remedial actions or improvements. We may suggest repairs, upgrades, or modifications to address identified issues, improve safety, or ensure compliance with regulations. These recommendations help to prioritize maintenance efforts and ensure the long-term safety and functionality of the electrical installation. Learn more

We support Risk Management and Insurance Purposes

An EICR report provides valuable information for risk management and insurance purposes. It helps building owners, facility managers, and insurance providers assess the level of electrical risk associated with the installation. The report can be used to identify potential liabilities, make informed decisions regarding maintenance or upgrades, and demonstrate compliance with safety regulations to insurance companies or regulatory authorities. We Ensure Compliance with Regulations

Electrical installations must meet specific safety standards and regulations. An EICR helps to determine whether the installation complies with the relevant electrical safety standards, such as the Wiring Regulations BS 7671. It checks if the installation has been correctly designed, installed, and maintained according to the applicable regulations. Learn more

We Assess the Overall Condition of the Installation

The report evaluates the overall condition and performance of the electrical installation. It identifies signs of wear and tear, deterioration, or aging components that may affect the safety or reliability of the system. This assessment helps to determine whether any remedial actions, repairs, or replacements are necessary to maintain the integrity of the installation. Learn more
